To Secure your data on you can hide or lock your hard disk drives on your system. if you are using Windows then follow the following steps:
- Click on the "Start" button. Go to "Run" on the start Menu Then type "gpedit.msc" and press enter.
- A "Group Policy" window will appear. Click on the "+" button and expand User Configuration then click on the "+" button to expand Administrative Templates". Then click the "+" button of "Windows Components" and then click "Windows Explorer".
- In the right setting column of the window Double click on "Hide these specified drives in My Computer", enable it and choose the drive(s) you want to hide.
- Double Click on "Prevent access to drives from My Computer"and repeat the previous step if you want to stop accessing any drive by "command" (e.g, by typing "C:" in the address bar or "Run").
- Close the group policy window.
- Restart your computer so that changes may take effect.
